What size should I order for my pet portrait?
The smallest suits a desk, a shelf or a hallway where you stand close. The middle size is the one most people hang on its own, above a console or beside a doorway. The largest is a wall piece: hang it above a sofa or a bed, where there is room to stand back from it.
The framed canvas comes in 12 x 16 inches, 16 x 20 inches, and 24 x 30 inches only.
How big is the middle size on a wall?
Hold up a sheet of letter paper. The smallest print is about that. The middle size is roughly two of those side by side, which reads as a real picture rather than a photo frame. The largest, on canvas or framed canvas, is about nine, and fills real wall space above a three-seat sofa on its own.
Why is every portrait a 4 by 5 shape?
Every portrait is a 4 by 5 upright shape. On paper, the 8 x 10 and 16 x 20 are exactly that shape, so nothing is cropped. Canvas runs a hair wider, so a thin sliver comes off the top and bottom. The 12 x 16 is different again: about 3 percent comes off each side.
