Plain and simple: your photos are yours, they stay private, and they are only ever used to create your pet's portraits.
What we collect
Your account email if you create one, the email address and the marketing choice you give us if you save a portrait for later (nothing is ticked for you), the pet photos you upload, the portraits we generate for you, and your purchase history, along with basic usage events (like which styles get picked) so we can improve the product. We also record the IP address your request came from, for one purpose: stopping a script from running up our costs by taking free previews over and over. It is stored with the device that made them and is deleted along with it.
What your photos are used for
One thing: creating your pet's portraits. Your photos are never used to train AI models, never sold, and never shared with anyone except the AI services that generate your portrait.
Who processes your data, and where
Your account and photos are stored with Supabase in Montréal, Canada. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. To create a portrait, your photo is sent to Google (Gemini) or OpenAI for processing. The site runs on Vercel, with Vercel Analytics for anonymous traffic statistics. If you accept the cookie notice, we also use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to measure traffic and advertising; decline and neither one loads.
How long we keep it
An unpurchased preview and the photo behind it are deleted after seven days, or seven days after you save it for later, by an automatic nightly job. Once you buy a portrait, as a print or as a digital file, we keep it and its files so a fresh print can be made from it whenever you like.
Your rights (Québec Law 25)
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing support@petportrait.photo. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Chris Pantelis, reachable at the same address. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Cookies
Without consent we set only the cookies the site cannot work safely without: the ones that keep you signed in, the one that remembers your cookie choice, and one called pp_device that tells our own browsers apart so a script cannot take unlimited free previews. That last one is a random number with nothing personal in it, we cannot read it from any other site, and it is never used for advertising or measurement. If you accept the cookie notice, we add measurement cookies from Google Analytics and the Meta pixel so we can see which pages and ads work. You can decline, and the site works exactly the same.
Printed items
Printed portraits are produced and shipped by a print partner, most often from a facility inside your own country or the European Union; a few destinations ship from further away. Placing a print order means we send that partner your delivery address and the file to print, for that purpose only. The partner keeps its copy of the file for 30 days and then deletes it.
