The short version: buy portraits, create them, love them or get them back in your balance.
The service
PetPortrait.photo turns photos of your pet into AI-generated portraits. Every new account gets three free previews, which carry a watermark. You buy portraits as one-time purchases (no subscription, ever), and one portrait either takes the watermark off a preview you already made or creates a new portrait without one. Buying from a preview keeps that preview. The price shown is always the price charged.
Your photos
Only upload photos you own or have permission to use, and please keep it to pets. You keep all rights to your photos.
Your portraits
Generated portraits are yours to download, print, share, and gift. We never use your portraits in our marketing without asking you first.
The public gallery
Our gallery shows portraits whose owners chose to show them. Ticking the box on a portrait gives us permission to display and share that generated portrait, on this site and on our social accounts, with no fee and for as long as the permission stands. It covers the generated portrait only. It never covers the photo you uploaded, your name, your pet's name or your email, none of which appear in the gallery. You can withdraw it at any time from your Account page or from the portrait itself, and the portrait leaves the gallery straight away. The box is never ticked for you.

Your portrait balance
Portraits in your balance don't expire. Failed portraits come back to your balance automatically. Free previews are free: they carry a watermark, they are used before any portrait you bought, and they have no cash value.
Fair use
Automated abuse, attempts to bypass watermarks, or using the service to generate content unrelated to pet portraits may lead to account suspension. Any portraits you paid for are refunded in money if we suspend an account.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and of Canada. Nothing in them limits your rights under Québec's Consumer Protection Act.
Printed items
Printed portraits are produced and shipped by a print partner, most often from a facility inside your own country or the European Union; a few destinations ship from further away. Placing a print order means we send that partner your delivery address and the file to print, for that purpose only. The partner keeps its copy of the file for 30 days and then deletes it.
