The service
PetPortrait.photo turns photos of your pet into AI-generated portraits. Previews are free and carry a watermark, with no card needed and no stated limit. You buy a print, or the digital file on its own, as a one-time purchase, no subscription ever, and what you pay for is the image you approved in the preview. The price shown is always the price charged. Every portrait is made by an image model from your photo. It is a new picture, not a filter over the photo. The preview you approve is the exact file we send and the image we print, trimmed slightly at the edges on some print sizes.
Your photos
Only upload photos you own or have permission to use, and please keep it to pets. You keep every right in your photos. To make and deliver your portrait you give us a licence to store the photo, make the portrait from it, print it and ship it, and nothing else. An unpurchased photo is deleted after seven days, or seven days after you save it for later; a purchased one is kept so a fresh print can be made.
Your portraits
Generated portraits are yours to download, print, share, and gift. We never use your portraits in our marketing without asking you first.
The public gallery
Our gallery shows portraits whose owners chose to show them. Ticking the box on a portrait gives us permission to display and share that generated portrait, on this site and on our social accounts, with no fee and for as long as the permission stands. It covers the generated portrait only. It never covers the photo you uploaded, your name, your pet's name or your email, none of which appear in the gallery. You can withdraw it at any time from your Account page or from the portrait itself, and the portrait leaves the gallery straight away. The box is never ticked for you.
Our guarantee
See it before you pay. Change it as many times as you like; nothing is charged until you order. Arrives damaged or wrong? Reprinted free. Send a photo within 14 days. Yours for life. Your portrait stays with us; a fresh print any time at a flat fee. See our Refund Policy for exactly how it works.
How long we keep it
An unpurchased preview and the photo behind it are deleted after seven days, or seven days after you save it for later, by an automatic nightly job. Once you buy a portrait, as a print or as a digital file, we keep it and its files so a fresh print can be made from it whenever you like.
Fair use
Automated abuse, attempts to bypass watermarks, or using the service to generate content unrelated to pet portraits may lead to account suspension. Any portraits you paid for are refunded in money if we suspend an account.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and of Canada. Nothing in them limits your rights under Québec's Consumer Protection Act.
Printed items
Printed portraits are produced and shipped by a print partner, most often from a facility inside your own country or the European Union; a few destinations ship from further away. Placing a print order means we send that partner your delivery address and the file to print, for that purpose only. The partner keeps its copy of the file for 30 days and then deletes it. Screens are backlit and every monitor differs, so a print can read slightly warmer, cooler or darker than your screen; that is not a defect. A wrong portrait or a printing fault is.
